Scottish Red Deer Stag Antler Bottle Opener with free Antler key ring, Scottish gift, house gift, antler gift, horn gift, mens gift This is one of my new Antler bottle openers. The antler came from a stag that roamed the hills above Lairg, Sutherland. This is an extremely rugged part of Scotland & I’m sure it makes the Stags & their antlers extra tough! Antler is one of these materials that is a joy to work, approximately the working hardness of Oak, it responds well to careful working with both machine & hand tools. I have sanded any harsh edges to make the handle ergonomic to hold but have left as much character as possible. Colour-wise, Antler tends to be predominately creamy white, sometimes with tones of pinkish brown & even some green. I love the natural shapes of Antler tines as they always make for a unique & interesting piece. The bottle opener itself is perfectly engineered & adds as quality weight to the piece. This one is finished in a slightly duller antique finish that goes very well with the antler. The opener measures: Overall length 163mm / Antler handle length 116mm It comes complete with a black presentation box & free Antler key ring as pictured. As with all my pieces, i have added my UBC makers mark, in this case to the underneath of the Antler handle. Cleaning should be done by simply wiping down with a damp cloth & leaving to dry.
