The barrel has been sanded back through years of aged oak to reveal the clean, fresh, natural colouring of the American, white oak underneath. The metal bands have been secured to the barrel with hex screws & finished in a black, hard wearing, metal paint, suitable for indoor & outdoor use. The barrel lid/head table top has been strengthened with glue between each slat, sanded for a lovely, smooth to the touch feel, with a flat top & then oiled.
