Bristol used to have what was possibly the oldest commercial distillery in the UK occupying a huge site on the banks of the river around Cheese Lane, in the centre of the city. This distillery became the Bristol Distilling Co in 1863. In 1940 it took a direct hit during the blitz and was destroyed. 77 years later we founded the new Bristol Distilling Co and are writing the next chapter in Bristol’s rich distilling history.
