This handmade glass decanter was designed by Colin Terris for Caithness in Wick, Scotland. Made of cased glass in the ‘Peat’ colourway. DIMENSIONS: 21.8cm (8 ) in height to top of neck, 27.5cm (10 34) to top of stopper, & the diameter of the base is 9.5cm (3 34). CONDITION: It is in excellent pre-loved condition & looks practically unused. If you have any questions regarding this item, please hit the Message button below & I will get back to you within 24 hours. – ABOUT COLIN TERRIS: Born in Kirkcaldy in 1937, Colin Terris studied glass design & calligraphy at Edinburgh College of Art. He was taught copper wheel engraving there by Helen Monro Turner. After working briefly in Norway & then teaching, he joined Caithness Glass in 1968, where he established the engraving studios & trained engravers. He designed & introduced the first modern Caithness paperweights in 1969, but moved into hot glass production from 1978. A director of Caithness Glass, he was also appointed a director of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee in 1989.
