Cailar & Bayard, Paris – Elegant French Champagne Bucket/Wine Cooler C.1920

A very fine early twentieth century silver plated Champagne bucket; a beautiful shaped body with a scallopped rim & very stylish handles. The underside is signed by the top-notch Parisian silversmith, Cailar & Bayard. Cailar & Bayard, 37 rue Grange-aux-Belles, Paris, founded in 1848 by Noel Cailar & Pierre Bayard. The firm closed in 1934 & was taken over by the famous Maison Christofle. Just back from our silversmith’s workshop where it has been professionally cleaned & polished, restoring it to it’s former glory. Superb condition spanning 10 1/4 handle to handle x 7 3/4 & standing 7 3/4 tall.
