Antique Edwardian 15Ct Gold Diamond & Sapphire Upfinger Dress Ring

An incredible piece of jewellery that most certainly started life as a brooch or similar, & was converted (many many years ago) to a ring. Resembling a musical note, this Edwardian dress ring is beautiful, bright & eye catching. The large diamonds are old European cuts, while the diamonds in the main body are a mix of old cuts, double cuts & rose cuts. in total there are 1.09cts of old diamonds in this piece, all set in platinum. The natural sapphire weighs 0.37ct & is set in rose gold. The piece has no marks & tests as 15ct gold. The ring does have some evidence of a very old repair to the largest diamond swirl (see photos). The repair is in good order & the piece is secure, but care must be taken when wearing not to knock or catch this area. We’d recommend its use as a special occasion or cocktail ring, rather than an everyday piece. A fabulous & one of kind piece of jewellery, that undoubtedly graced the hand of a very stylish lady in times gone by – probably more than one!
