Woodford Reserve Rye Whiskey

The first permanent new mash bill recipe whiskey to come out of the Woodford Reserve Distillery for some time – 53% rye, 33% corn & 14% malted barley. At the distillery they talk about the five sources of flavour for Bourbon, these are grain, water, fermentation, distillation and ageing. Woodford Reserve Rye showcases these five sources of flavour with an emphasis on spice. Spicy with distinct notes of rye, black pepper and marzipan with hints of pear, apple and almonds. Clove, rye, mint and honey on the palate mingled with mint and apple. Long and sweetly spiced finish.
