Whyte and Mackay was established by Charles Mackay and James White. They began working for a company called Allan & Poynter. The company started by warehousing dry goods. Toward the end of the nineteenth century, the company began warehousing spirits, particularly whisky, which was becoming increasingly popular, for many of the French brandies had become rare due to phylloxera. This 25-year-old was bottled at an ABV of 45% and was distributed only to the employees of their company to celebrate the year 2000. This is a rare, and worthwhile bottle. Nose: Honeyed, sweet vanilla, caramel, sherry Palate: Oak, sherry, dried and fresh fruits Finish: Medium/long lasting , very fruity. A treat indeed.
