This cut-crystal drinking set is the perfect way to enjoy your favourite spirit in vintage luxury, & elevates an evening drink into a sparkling vignette that looks beautifully decorative at any time of day. The set consists of a large leaded crystal decanter & a pair of matching leaded crystal tumblers, elegantly-shaped & beautifully made. The vessels are composed of crystal with a pleasingly heavy weight to them, owing to the elaborate process of creating leaded crystal. The decanter in particular is impressively heavy. Whilst their shape denotes them as tumblers & they function well for any spirits, & look elegant holding water or wine. The glass is cut in numerous bevels which reflect the light perfectly, & when the glass is struck it rings with a high, clear note. The glasses have been designed to sit in the hand, but their reflective quality means that they are equally suited to decorative purposes – they are perfect as part of a table setting with candles, where they both hold your drink whilst reflecting the sparkling light across the table. This style of crystal is a design classic, making it hard to date these vessels – the date of manufacture is not present on this piece. However the gorgeous quality of these glasses suggests that they are vintage items, probably mid-century. The base of the glasses carry no makers marks, but the decanter is marked as ‘Port Albert Crystal’.
