This beautiful beer pump handle badge was found recently at an auction in Carlisle. It was made for the Theakston Brewery situated in Masham, North Yorkshire to sit proudly on the pump handle of their Black Bull Bitter. The beer was first brewed in 1992 to commemorate the first Theakston pub in the town, which was also the brewhouse. Robert Theakston began trading from the Black Bull in Masham but the brewery moved in 1875 to its current position, very close to the original site. The Black Bull was the original brewery logo but it changed in the 1960s to the Seal of the Masham Peculiar, the Masham Peculiar was the representative of the Bishop of York who tended the congregation of Masham in his place – quite frankly, Masham is a long way from York & the Bishop found the journey tedious! The badge is in nice vintage condition, made of brass with a shiny reverse with just a few dark spots, it has a picture of a very handsome & scary looking bull on the face of the badge, with just a few scratches It still has the original screw fixings on the reverse, ready to reattach to a pump handle in your own bar. The badge measures 5′ x 4.25. The badge will be wrapped & packaged using recyclable materials including 100% biodegradable bubble wrap. We always combine shipping on multiple orders when weight allows & refund overages. Vintage Beer Pump Handle Badge Advertising Theakston Black Bull Bitter
