A set of four gorgeous vintage Babycham coupe glasses from the 1950’s. Babycham is an iconic brand & was a particularly popular party drink in 1960s & 1970s. We can date the glasses to the 1950’s. The familiar fawn branding is white, wearing his trademark bow & is in a standing position. The fawn is designed to viewed from inside the glass & appears solid white on the outside. The stem is hexagonal & there is a dark blue Babycham logo on the base. Later glasses had a round stem & a leaping fawn in yellow. This lovely set is in great condition. There is wear to the gold rims, particularly on one glass where it is mostly worn away. There is also some minor scratching to the lettering on two of the glasses. Please check photos carefully to ensure you are happy with the vintage condition. Babycham is a sparkling perry & was first produced in 1953 by Francis Showering, a Somerset, UK brewer. in 1957 it became the first alcoholic beverage to be advertised on British television, with a campaign directed at women. It was highly popular during the 1960s & 1970s & the drink’s deer logo became well-recognised. Babycham changed hands but has recently been brought back into the Showering family & is still produced in Somerset. The glasses measure approximately 10.5cm tall & approximately 8.5cm in diameter across the bowl. These fantastic retro glasses would be a fun addition to your Christmas table this year or make a unique Christmas gift. Also nice for cocktails, martini or prosecco.
