If you’re going to start somewhere, start somewhere good – so we begin with our crafted potato vodka as a base. Distilled and filtered just once to ensure the flavour and personality of the potatoes we use remain intact. Then we add; in this case ripe, luscious black cherry. And so, to the nose; here a delightful hit of cherry (obviously), is followed by suggestions of cacao and marzipan. The palette detects a rich, pleasing sweetness balanced with the tart nuance of ripe fruit. All of which delivers a clean flavour experience, not oversaturated with sugars. The finish, then, is long with a whiff of chocolate and a suggestion of mint. Again indulge neat or mixed in a cocktail, because this is most certainly an indulgence. Vestal grow the potatoes they use to make their vodka in the fertile soil of the Kaszebe and Podlasie regions of Poland (our terroirs), and they harvest them young to preserve their distinctive flavour. The results astonish those familiar with mainstream vodka. Does that make Vestal the best vodka in the world? We’ll leave that for you to decide, but we sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
