Texas Legation – Batch No 2 Bourbon 70cl Bottle

Deep and enticing, dusty sweet corn husks mingle with rich seasoned oak notes to provide an assertive, uplifting nose which is softened by honey and vibrant fruit. The palate expands gloriously with a background sour mash and chalky hit doused by layers of honey and dark treacle. Lingering and giving this is a masterpiece of balance, complexity, texture and structure.

Texas Legation Bourbon – distilled for Berry Bros. & Rudd by Ironroot Republic. Whilst its name might be a nod towards historic diplomatic ties, the whisky itself is something distinctively new. Nose: Warm and fiery, softened with sweet honey and vibrant fruits. Palate: A mouth-covering palate that expands gradually. At first sour-mash, balanced with treacle and maple syrup. Toffee and honey, sweet yet smoky. Finish: Short but lingering, fiery and sweet.

• This is the second batch from the series, distilled by Ironroot Republic in Denison, Texas. They create their spirits predominantly using grain grown within 60 miles of the distillery and complete all steps of distillation on-site.
