The change tray/ashtray measures 0.75 in height x 6 in diameter. This fine piece of brewery advertising was made for Stones Best Bitter. The change tray would sit on the bar ready for the customer’s change to be slipped into the bowl. These items were often used as ashtrays too, & this example was, as it has slight blistering on the inside of the bowl near the cannon stand. The Stones Brewery was founded in 1868 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire by brewer William Stones. The brewery was originally called The Neeps End Brewery, but Stones changed the name to The Cannon Brewery, hence the cannon used in subsequent advertising campaigns. Stones Bitter quickly became a firm favourite with the steelworkers of the Don Valley in Sheffield, & the brand soon became a staple across the UK. The change tray was made by Praesidium. It is Melamine. It will be wrapped & packaged using recyclable materials including 100% biodegradable bubble wrap. We always combine shipping whenever weight allows & refund overages on overseas orders. stones Best Bitter Change Tray/Ashtray in Melamine – Made To Advertise A Fine Sheffield Beer
