The Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) is the most important pro cycling race in Flanders, Belgium. It is one of the two major cobbled classics alongside Paris-Roubaix, & also one of the five ‘monuments’ of cycling. The riders face a total of eighteen cobbled climbs or ‘bergs’ & perhaps the most famous of these is the steep climb up to the iconic church at the top of the Muur van Geraardsbergen. Belgian champion Stijn Devolder stunned the favourites to win the 92nd edition of the classic cobblestone race in 2008.
