They do not lay flat, they have about a 1 bow in the middle. All staves are unique & markings will vary. These are genuine bourbon barrel staves that come straight off the used barrel & to you! They are dirty & sold in the condition they were dismantled in, straight off the barrel but they will be strong & ready to be used or made in to something good!
