Saint-Véran Les Crèches 2019, Saumaize-Michelin

With rich apricot fruit character over a refined, mineral demeanour, the Saint-Véran Les Crèches is at once concentrated and refined. It has impressive length on the palate, suffused with a sense of freshness. This wine comes from the fruit of two south-east facing parcels of 40-60 year-old vines at the foot of the dramatic Roche de Vergisson, above the village of Davayé. Fermentation takes place in 100% oak barriques, after which the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak, with lees-stirring every ten days over a nine month period.
