Lovely, appetising aroma of strawberries and succulent black cherries. Subtle hints of toasty oak, chocolate, leather, black pepper and liquorice. Absolutely delicious – rounded, ripe tannins contribute texture. A wine to enjoy immediately and over the next 3-4 years. The village of Rasteau is to the north of Gigondas and its vineyards face full south. The vine has likely been cultivated here for more than 2,000 years, and it was historically known for its fortified wines: the appellation for its dry reds having been created as recently as 2010.
