We found this beautiful corkscrew at an online auction in Carlisle recently. Made for Sandy MacDonald Scotch Whiskies from white metal, the little corkscrew is in superb vintage condition with just a little discolouration on the helix. Sandy MacDonald was a whisky blender from Leith in Scotland, the ‘Sandy Mac’ name hails from the same place as Old Parr, neither whiskies are in production anymore. Apparently a case of 1905 Sandy MacDonald whisky was found in the wreck of a rum runner boat in the Detroit river. Legend has it that it was bound for one of Mr Al Capone’s speakeasies. The corkscrew measures 3.75 x 0.5 when closed. This is a rare & beautiful corkscrew that would make a great addition to a collection, or a gift for a whisky loving friend. The corkscrew will be wrapped in tissue & sent in a jiffy bag for ease of letterbox delivery. We always combine shipping on multiple orders.
