A far cry from the homogenous, rolling vineyards in the north of Rueda, an hour’s drive south finds pine forests interspersed with ancient vineyards planted on what can only be described as beach sand! Quintaluna is made up of 60% prephylloxera vines which contribute a complexity not normally associated with Verdejo. Gone are the obvious tropical notes normally associated with the variety – instead you can find cleaner aromas of white flowers, stone fruit and beautiful green nuances.
