Original French Vintage Slavia Porcelain Ashtray. Cafe Bar Chic

This is a lovely red pottery ashtray… it is very old, a promotional item from the former French beer brand LA SLAVIA, manufactured in Chalons in Champagne by the company LA COMETE. in overall good vintage condition, with signs of wear, typical of its age & usage. There is a chip on the base of the ashtray, which is only visible from the underside, & does not detract from its aesthetic quality. For the record, La Socit de Brasserie Franco-Viennoise bought the Jacquesson family estate in Chlons en Champagne in 1882. This family was one of the five largest Champagne Houses on the market under the July Monarchy. After the purchase the name becomes Comet Brewery. The Franco-Viennese Brewery Society strongly modernized the Factory after the First World War. SLAVIA beer was made there until it closed in 1987. It measures approx 20cm (8ins) at the widest point & weighs approx 485g unpackaged Please be aware that our vintage items are preloved & not new. They may have imperfections typical of age & usage.
