Metropolitian Museum of Art, Glass Decanter with Acorn Stopper Sunburst Diamond Pattern 1820’s Reproduction Sunburst, diamond, ribbed, banded pattern. 1820’s Reproduction Federal Style Glass by Metropolitan Museum of Art Faithful reproduction of a 19th Century flip glass made by Imperial Glass for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1972. Flip was a spiced alcoholic beverage consumed during the 1800’s. This reproduction was made in the same way as the original, blown into a 3 hinged mold with the glass blower’s pontil. Acorn Shape Glass Stopper Ground Glass on stopper end & Bottle Neck Drip Edge Lip; Heavy glass Marked M M A on bottom Polished Pontil with marks Decanter = 10 1/2 inches tall 3 1/2 inch diameter base Weighs 1 # 10 oz.
