Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is famous as the winery that beat Bordeaux’s best in 1976’s Judgment of Paris, a moment which transformed the image of Californian wine around the world. Fast forward nearly 40 years, and the winery is still producing finely honed Chardonnay like Karia, a wine which opens with aromas of peach, yellow apple, spice and a pleasing sweet cream vanilla note. The palate is alive with citrus and light honey notes that lead to a lingering, fresh, minerally finish.
