David Traeger – Three Centuries Heathcote Shiraz 2016 75cl Bottle

This wine is a blend of Shiraz from low yielding vineyards in the Heathcote Region that have their origin in three centuries, a component from a 19th century vineyard, through to vineyards planted in the 20th and now 21st centuries. Each vineyard component has its own distinct flavours and as they are of varying ages these differences add complexity and character. Colour: Deep crimson red. Nose: Plum and mulberry, and some elegant toasty oak. Palate: Sweet, mouthfilling creamy-berry flavours flow through to a fine to medium weight palate. A flavoursome Shiraz with the depth of fruit one would expect from the Heathcote Region, having the balance to enjoy now or it will benefit from maturation. More elegant and smooth than many powerful, alcoholic Australian shiraz.
