Caol Ila 2013 / 8 Year Old / Provenance Islay Whisky

70cl / 46% / Douglas Laing – A 2013 Caol Ila single malt from independent bottler Douglas Laing that was matured in a refill barrel for eight years, before being bottled in May 2022 as part of its Provenance series. Aromas of rich peat smoke, crispy bacon, dried earth and driftwood fill the nose, complemented by notes of treacle, heavily-charred oak, cured meats, iodine, acrid peat smoke and hints of barley throughout the palate.
