Brunello di Montalcino 2017, Il Poggione

A fabulous example of Italy’s most famous red wine, from an exceptional producer. Lovely red fruit on the nose – cranberry and dried cherry, with hints of kirsch, white chocolate, cream, straw, violet and peppery spice. Beautiful texture to the tannins, which provide the structure for ageing. If you can’t resist opening a bottle early, pour into a decanter and leave it there for at least an hour.
