Barbaresco DOCG Vigna Gallina 2017, La Spinetta

Deep – yet transparent – red. Fantastically concentrated fruit and savoury aromas: rose hip, cider apple, roasted chestnut, leather, woodsmoke, fenugreek, curry plant and just a hint of the tar character, for which Nebbiolo is well-known. How is it than when your mouth encloses a sip of this wine, that its warm richness seems to surround your entire being? A wonder! Beautiful succulence and refinement of texture, giving the impression of maturity, since the tannin is so exquisitely velvety. Extremely impressive, this could be kept a decade or longer, however it is rather delicious already.
