Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch 5 (52.6%) Single Malt Whisky- Batch 5 of Balvenie Tun 1509 brings together whisky procured from 23 single casks, 13 traditional whisky casks and 10 sherry butts. The whole lot marries and stitches together for five months in the famous Tun 1509, with the result being a malty, rich and luxurious dram. Heaven. Nose: Spiced fruit chutney, caramelised apple, sponge cake with honey. Palate: Oat biscuits with a drizzle of melted dark chocolate, black pepper, herbaceous oak and buttery shortcrust pastry. Finish: Ginger snaps, honeycomb and fried dough and new leather.
