Balvenie Signature Batch 1 released in 2007, as replacement for the popular 10-year old expression Founders Reserve . Recently discontinued, a total of just 5 batches of this 12-year old Balvenie where released. Matured in three wood types; Sherry, first fill Bourbon and refill casks, this is a flavourful dram. Nose: Orange, citrusy, very fresh and lightPalate: honey, malt, more citrus and orangeFinish: a lot of honey. Very pleasantly satisfying. drives you for another sip! Feels like summer.

• A new addition to the Balvenie range and a younger sibling to the 15 year old single cask.
• Exclusively matured in first fill bourbon casks and each bottle is part of a batch that is no more than 300 bottles from the same cask.
• Sweet with good body, the bourbon characters develop with a gentle spice and a hint of vanilla.

• IWSC Awards Tasting Note: Gorgeous nose filled with ripe fruit and rich oak. Light smoke in the background. Rich malt, honey and a rich floral backing. Good entry with full flavours rolling slowly across the palate. Hints of honey, sherry and aniseed. Some light spice. Silky smooth texture. Some nutty notes in fairly full finish.
