A carafe designed by Colin Terris, for Caithness. His early work provides lovely examples of Scottish Modernism. He studied at the Edinburgh College of Art, originally in graphics but discovered glass in his foundation year. He went on to study glass making (with engraving) in Scandinavia before joining Caithness in 1968. I think the landscapes of the Scottish highlands, & Scandinavia, provide a point of influence – creative partnership – in his work. His designs, like this carafe, are influenced by designers like Bo Borgstrm & Per Ltken. The colour – Peat – captures the Scottish landscape. Part of his Canisbay range of homeware produced in the late 1960s & 1970s H: 29cm W:12cm I hope you will have time to visit our store 1960S Carafe By Colin Terris, For Caithness Peat Colour
