A liqueur is an alcoholic drink composed of spirits (often rectified spirit) and additional flavourings such as sugar, fruits, herbs, and spices. It’s the sugar that makes them into a liqueur. 

The general rule is 2 years unopened and 6 months opened and stored correctly in the refrigerator. However some brands can last 2 years open or unopen.

Liqueurs can be consumed straight, a cream liqueur with just ice is delicious. Usually they are mixed as part of a cocktail.

keep in a cool dark place away from heat and sunlight. Once opened depending on alcohol content and ingredients in the liqueur will depend on if it needs refrigerating or not. Always read the label.
